Huge Grinder Family

Although they have a common name called grinder, they have different prefixes according to their different uses. The members of the grinder family are: cylindrical grinder, internal grinder, surface grinder, gear grinder, guide rail grinder, centerless grinder, tool grinder, etc.

Cylindrical grinder

Cylindrical grinder is divided into ordinary cylindrical grinder and universal cylindrical grinder. Compared with the ordinary cylindrical grinder, the head frame and the grinding wheel of the universal cylindrical grinder are equipped with a rotary table, which can deflect a certain angle around the vertical axis, and the internal cylindrical grinding head and other accessories are added. Therefore, the universal cylindrical grinder has more powerful functions. It can grind not only the cylindrical surface, end face and conical surface, but also the internal cylindrical surface, internal step surface and conical surface with larger taper.

The main components of cylindrical grinder and their functions

① The machine bed is used to support various parts, with a workbench and a grinding wheel rack on the upper part and a hydraulic transmission system inside.

② The head frame and tail seat are installed on the workbench. The worktable has two layers. The lower worktable can make longitudinal reciprocating motion on the guide rail of the bed. The upper worktable can deflect a certain angle from the lower worktable in the horizontal plane to grind the conical surface.

③ The spindle in the head frame is driven by a separate motor through a speed change mechanism to rotate, and six speeds can be obtained. The spindle end can be installed with a center, a chuck or a chuck. The workpiece can be supported between the head frame ejector pin and the tail frame ejector pin, or can be installed with a chuck.

④ The grinding wheel rack is used to install the grinding wheel, which is driven by a separate motor to rotate at high speed. The grinding wheel rack can be transversely fed on the guide rail at the rear of the lathe bed. There are three feeding methods: automatic periodic feeding, rapid introduction or withdrawal, and manual feeding. The first two are realized by hydraulic transmission.

Other types of grinding machines

Internal grinder

The internal grinder is composed of bed, head frame, grinding tool frame, wheel dresser and other parts. The head frame can be rotated around the vertical axis to grind the tapered hole. The reciprocating motion of the workbench uses hydraulic transmission.

Surface grinder

Surface grinding machines are divided into vertical shaft type and horizontal shaft type. Face grinding of grinding wheel for vertical spindle surface grinder; Horizontal spindle surface grinder uses the circumference of the grinding wheel to grind the surface.

Surface grinder generally consists of bed, workbench, column, sliding plate, grinding head, wheel dresser and other parts. The rectangular worktable is installed on the horizontal and longitudinal guide rails of the machine bed, on which is an electromagnetic chuck for installing workpieces. The reciprocating drive of the workbench can be driven by hydraulic pressure or controlled by hand wheel. The grinding wheel is mounted on the grinding head and is directly driven by the motor to rotate. The grinding head moves transversely along the horizontal guide rail of the sliding plate, which is hydraulically driven or controlled by the hand wheel. The sliding plate can move along the vertical guide rail of the column to adjust the height position of the grinding head and the vertical feeding movement, which is controlled by the hand wheel.
